The Diamondback takes its inspiration from American motorcycle jackets of the 1930s and 1940s, incorporating traditional D-pocket construction, an asymmetrical front closure, and details drawn from early riding jackets.
Its defining feature is the oversized D-shaped chest pocket, a design closely associated with early American motorcycle jackets. The distinctive curved leather panel incorporates a vertical zippered pocket, referencing the practical storage designs found on vintage riding jackets.
Built from our 1.3mm full-grain vegetable-tanned tea-core cowhide, the Diamondback features a black finish over a deep tobacco brown core. With regular wear, the leather develops creases and surface wear, gradually revealing the warmer brown undertones beneath. Over time, this produces a natural patina unique to each jacket.
The silhouette has been refined with a subtly suppressed waist for a more tailored fit. The asymmetrical front closure, snap-down lapels, and shoulder epaulettes retain the traditional double-rider design.
The rear features a Western-inspired pointed yoke, an action-back for improved mobility, and an integrated kidney panel through which a full removable leather belt passes. Pointed leather belt loops and brass rivet detailing continue the Western influence through the waist.
The sleeves are built with a natural curve through the arm for a more articulated fit and finished with French seam construction. Zippered cuffs incorporate open leather gussets, allowing the cuffs to expand when unzipped.
Hardware includes a Talon No. 10 main zipper, Talon No. 7 zippers at the pockets and cuffs, and brass snaps at the collar and lapels. Contrasting stitching highlights the jacket’s panel construction and complements the brown undertones of the leather.
Inside, an insulated olive green 100% cotton liner features a traditional diamond-quilted pattern. Interior storage includes one zippered pocket and one open pocket. The custom Diamondback label is stitched onto a natural vegetable-tanned leather patch, which will develop its own patina over time.
